A holistic outdoor based setting

Little Roots is an Early Years childminder setting, led by a qualified teacher (currently completing Forest School leader training).

​Due to the outdoor, practical nature of our day and kindergarten style structure: Little Roots is best suited to Preschool aged children 2-5 years.

We are very lucky to have 1/2 an acre of land and plenty of outdoor space for our Little Roots explorers. We have been developing a mini Forest School site with a mud kitchen area (complete with running taps!). Nature based activities and story time around our log circle area will form a part of our daily rhythm. We also have chickens, ducks, guinea pigs and fish to feed and care for.

Cosy indoor spaces
Although we will be outdoors as much as possible we do also have cosy inside spaces including our nature cabin and a large indoor playroom, both equipped with open ended toys and creative arts and crafts materials.

Learning through play
Every day exciting, stimulating activities and open ended resources will be on offer. We will plan in the moment to ensure your child's interests and needs are really well met. We will also have a nature inspired theme each week to explore through group activities.

Ratios

With a ratio of 1 adult to 3 children, and a maximum group size of 9, we are truly able to work with the children's interests to make this a truly engaging and holistic setting.
